"Andor" Season 2 ushers in a dark Star Wars era in epic 3-episode release on Disney+.
The first three episodes of Andor Season 2 will release tonight, April 22, 2025 on Disney+. Andor is a Star Wars franchise prequel that focuses on Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a spy and intelligence officer of the Rebel Alliance, as he becomes radicalized against the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance is formed.
Each of the first 3 episodes block takes place over the course of a few days before jumping ahead another year, with each chapter nearing the events of Rogue One and A New Hope. Early critic reviews are very positive.
The first season (premiered September 21, 2022), which tells a year of Andor's story when he first becomes a revolutionary. The first season received critical acclaim as well as several accolades. It was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Drama Series.
Created by Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, and an impressive ensemble cast have done well to pull viewers in and create buzz for a highly anticipated season 2. Season 2 will also be the final season of Andor and will conclude just before the events of Rogue One (2016) and A New Hope (1977).
The second season takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film.
Andor Season 1 is streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Andor Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Disney+ will drop the first three episodes of Andor Season 2 at once tonight at tonight at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The season will have 12 episodes total that will release weekly.
