Presumed Innocent is an eight-episode limited series on Apple TV+. It premiers on June 12, 2024 and stars Jake Gyllenhaal who also serves as executive producer.
Presumed Innocent is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name by Scott Turow. Gyllenhaal plays the lead role of chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich. The series takes viewers on a gripping journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when one of its own is suspected of the crime. The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together. The star-studded ensemble cast of the thriller also includes Ruth Negga, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle and more.
This suspenseful and riveting mini series will have 8 episodes total. It is directed by Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes. This new limited series is created and written by David E. Kelley who has a history working with legal thrillers and mysterious crime TV and films such as The Practice and its spin-off Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, Boston Public, Goliath, Big Little Lies, and Big Sky.
