According to The Hollywood Reporter, filmmaker Tim Burton and Warner Bros.‘ highly anticipated sequel is expected to gross anywhere from $100 million to $110 million in its domestic debut, based on tracking data and advanced ticket sales. Warner Bros. is remaining more conservative in sticking with $80 million-plus.
The anticipation alone, 30 years in the making is surely a driving force behind sales. However, we previewed the film, and we will be the first to tell you, this sequel is a top contender to any previous classic Hollywood horror genre sequel that we’ve saw within the last 5 years. The film is solid, odd, nostalgic, funny, spooky, crass, and all of the weird things fans of Beetlejuice love to see! When it comes to callbacks from the original Beetlejuice Beetlejuice gets it right!
The musical sequences and scores are brilliant and nothing short of award worthy. Jenna Ortega steps into this franchise as the perfect angsty, dark, emotionally frustrated daughter of Lydia Deetz. Her character Astrid is so much like her mother in the original installment and Ortega brings a new dimension to what overly dramatic and hormonal teenagers facing changes tend be like more often than not.

On top of these positives, there is a twisty plot that unfolds which gets audiences fully engaged and immersed in the story. We give this second installment to the Beetlejuice franchise a solid 4/5.
The marketing and promotional materials for this movie has been heavy. From insurance commercials, soft drink boxes, to theatre souvenir buckets and more. Beetlejuice is back! And fans are flocking to the theatres for a view back into the afterlife with some of these classic 1988 characters.
As of today, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is playing in theatres worldwide!
