Carême is the thrilling French-language television series on Apple TV+ about the world’s first celebrity chef, Antonin Carême (Benjamin Voisin). Careme came from very impoverished beginnings in Paris and rose to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. Through several unfortunate events, he finds himself mixed up with some of the most dangerous and powerful power political players in 19th century France. This sweetly crafted series is a must see!
Season 1 of Carême premiered on Apple TV+ April 30, 2025. Episode 4 titled “Buy the Crown!” debuts on tomorrow, May 14, 2025.
In the next episode, audiences will see France's fate hinges on a dinner with the rightful king, Louis XVIII. Carême must improvise in a foreign kitchen and Henriette's secrets come to light.
In each episode, audiences have watched Carême’s passion for crafting, designing, cooking, and serving food be his driving force during some of his darkest days. Known throughout history as "the king of chefs and the chef of kings", this story continues to take viewers on his incredible journey and rise to stardom while also showcasing aspects of his personal life involving the many lovers, friends, and enemies who impacted his life during both his trials and his triumphs.

Lead actor Jérémie Renier who portrays Charles-Maurice de “Talleyrand”-Périgord, a clever and resourceful politician and star Alice Da Luz, who plays the role of Agathe’, a talented and powerful female executive chef was able to join us for a chat to talk politics, pastries, and power.
The eight-part French-language television series is directed by Martin Bourboulon. The directing, production, and cinematography is very immersive. The set design allows viewers to step back in time, feel the heat of the political turmoil brewing during that period in France, and also understand the weight of power that comes with being a part of high society.
What Antonin Carême did with food was centuries ahead of his time. A true artist in every sense of the word. Utilizing his craft to rise from mud, navigate through politically dangerous terrain, onward to reach the top of the mountain. This series is entertaining, captivating, and historical.
