Danai Gurira reconnects with fellow Black Panther Co-star Michael B. Jordan for "The Thomas Crown Affair" remake.
Zimbabwean-American Actress Danai Gurira is best known for her starring role as Michonne on the AMC horror drama series The Walking Dead (2012–2020, 2022) and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
However, in the billion dollar hit Marvel movie franchise Black Panther, she plays the fierce Wakandan warrior General Okoye. Gurira starred in the film alongside actor Michael B. Jordan who played the antagonist in the billion dollar grossing Black Panther film in 2018.
Now, Gurira and Jordan will be teaming up again! This time for The Thomas Crown Affair remake feature film.
The original made by United Artists in 1968, starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. The film revolved around a millionaire, Thomas Crown, who is an adventure junkie. Seeking his biggest thrill yet, he organizes a high stakes heist, from a Boston Bank. When the bank contacts an independent investigator, Vicki Anderson, she figures out that Crown is behind the heist, and the rest of the film follows a cat and mouse chase between Vicki and Crown.
Jordan will be starring in, directing, and producing the romantic heist thriller. Gurira will play Jordan’s confidante in the film. Production begins underway this upcoming Monday in London. Amazon MGM Studios is behind the film. Other notable cast members announced for the film are Academy Award winner Kenneth Branagh and Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone.
The Thomas Crown Affair will release on March 5, 2027.
