Dutton Ranch: Vengeance, Legacy and Cowboying Plus More Shocking Moments.
Series Cowboy Berto Colón Gave Us A Song to Sum Up The Season!
Now that viewers have settled into Rio Paloma, Texas—there’s blood in soil and on the hands of the cowboys once again. New characters have entered the barn…some are sketchy and some have proved to be loyal, but overall they’ve all proven to be interesting and outright intriguing characters on this gritty first season of Dutton Ranch.
Last week in episode 6 titled “A Cowboy Saint”, this hit Paramount+ Yellowstone spinoff gave audiences a satisfying episode filled with thrilling drama. Rip (Cole Hauser) has expanded his role as lead rancher for the legendary 10 Petal ranch which places him extremely close to impeding Jackson family drama. He understands the danger that this legacy ranch family can pose, especially since a dead body from their ranch ended up on his property earlier in the season. However, episode 6 found him in a bloody and unpredictable situation which stemmed from him being at the 10 petal ranch for his daily work duties.
The last episode of Dutton Ranch really got going when several key characters within the Jackson family and the cowboy groups collided at the 10 Petal. Some instances were good and viewers enjoyed seeing the cowboys from each ranch work together, bond and connect while completing ranch tasks. The Dutton Ranch cowboys Azul (J. R. Villarreal) and Zachariah (Marc Menchaca) led the way in showing the 10 petal boys how to work under Rip’s lead and even have a little fun while doing so.
In a not so great turn of events, gunshots were fired and a cowboy ended up dead at the hands of Jackson family head of security and 10 Petal Ranch cowboy Miguel (Berto Colón).
The hot headed, drug addicted, prodigal Jackson Family son Rob Will (Jai Courtney) has now returned from a brief rehab stay. Angry and refusing to accept rejection, he began to plot revenge against the family that he feels has cast him out. He coaxed Chet (Hart Denton), the 10-petal cowboy who was just fired into putting himself in a dangerous situation and then ultimately Rob Will left him for dead following a shootout with Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba). Rip watched it all unfold.at the 10 Petal ranch while sitting in his truck after his shift.

Other events unfolded episode 6 that put viewers on edge and kept the entire episode engaging from start to finish. Several key scenes with fiery dialogue, excitement, forewarning signs, danger, cowboy fun and sweet romance made this one of the best episodes of the season!
Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) have now forged a business partnership, with Beulah hiring Beth as 10 Petal’s brand manager. Their connection stems from shared experiences of family legacies demanding total sacrifice, creating a bond that influences Beulah’s decision to bring Beth on board.
The narrative sets up two parallel storylines: Rob Will’s vengeful return threatening the family, and an unexpected alliance forming between Beulah and Beth based on mutual understanding of familial duty and trauma.
Other important elements in the last episode involved:
Beth and Beulah both getting what they bargained for in their arrangement and business deal, but an ominous mention about Jamie Dutton from Beulah Jackson kept Beth mindful of how strong and powerful the 10 Petal ranch can be.
A bubbly and cute scene brewed with Azul and his wife, plus a reveal that Beulah and Everett are newly rekindled sweethearts brought on some swoon worthy moments. It seems like there is an unresolved mysterious about their relationship that could prove to be interesting and highly entertaining backstory.
Carter (Finn Little) is still upset with Beth about not being included in big family decisions so he’s still winging things on his own, although Rip who is very busy at the moment slightly notices that he hasn’t spent enough time with him as of late. So a confused and hormonal Carter is continuing to lie to his parents, make impulsive decisions and be lead around like a love sick puppy on leash by Oreana (Natalie Alyn Lind)—the heir to the Jackson family ranch throne.

With a vengeful, armed, and hot headed Rob Will on the loose, things are sure to get even more western and wild! In the next episode Beth, Carter and Rip join the Jacksons for The 10 Petal Ranch 190 year celebration soiree where galvanizing, emotional and shocking moments will have viewers clamoring for more.

As the season progresses, it seems like even deeper troubles are emerging and the peace that Beth and Rip hoped for is galloping even further away into the never-ending Texas horizon!

From the dirt road to the neon bar
I ain’t scared of the devil we then broke bread
I’m a sinner and a saint
the wrong and the right
the gun and bible in the same fight
if I go tonight just lay me in red clay
God knows this soul has been through some fire
whiskey for the wounds smoke for the pain
I’m ready to die
