Actor Jon Beavers, who recently starred in Horizon: An American Saga plays embattled yet honorable Agent Billy Pace in the series Paradise. Pace is a secret service agent in the community “Paradise“ and he is also the best friend of lead Agent Xavier Collins.
In the series, audiences are introduced to Agent Pace, the non-traditionally trained, sort of knuckle head bestfriend of Agent Collins in the first episode during a shift change at the residence of the President. As the series unfolds and the President is murdered, every single person who encountered him within a 24 hour time frame becomes a suspect. Fingers are pointed, questions are raised, and evidence is scarce which leads to those within President Bradford’s atmosphere all wondering how this could have happened within the safe community bubble.
As those in control with high power start to investigate and look into possible motives, characters personal lives before they came to live in “Paradise” becomes a focal part of the story.
In episode 4 viewers get to learn more about Billy Pace, the man viewed as the cool and fun “Uncle Billy” to Xavier’s kids and what life for him was like before he became an Agent on POTUS detail. Billy’s life is played out over the episode in an abundance of flashbacks starting from around his early teenage years. Physically and mentally abused early on in life, we see Billy go down a dark and violent path that involves prison and undercover mercenary work.
Scenes In Color asked actor Jon Beavers, “How important do you think it was for audiences to get that backstory about your character to kind of better empathize and understand him moving forward?

Created by Dan Fogelman, this thrilling and suspenseful series will continue to debut episodes every Tuesday on Hulu until the finale on March 4, 2025.
Jon stated, “Dan and his team of writers did an amazing job of putting somebody in a in a really great light showing you them and saying don't you like this person in this light and then flipping it and going wait if you knew this would you still like them and you go no no we don't like them anymore and they flip it again and he goes well what if you understood why they did it you know and it's that it's that layered and calculated writing but also layered humanity”.
