High stakes medical drama “ The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” debuts today on Netflix.
Part Superhero, Part Surgeon. Former combat Physician is here to save the day.
Based on the webtoon “Trauma Center: Golden Hour” by Hansanleega, a real-life doctor. Medical k-drama, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call uses classic superhero flair and action sequences along with traumatic and intricate medical emergency scenes that provide for an action packed, chaotic, and satisfying viewing experience.
Netflix's new series, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is streaming now on Netflix. It premiered today, January 24 with 8 episodes.
The series longlines reads, genius surgeon and former combat medic Baek Kang-hyuk breathes life into a titular trauma team to save lives in this exhilarating medical series.
• Actor Ju Ji-hoon stars as Baek Kang-hyuk, a musclar, good looking and brilliant surgeon.
• This surgeon saves lives, pilots helicopters, and performs stunts.
• It is the first medical drama in a while highlighting the medical crisis in South Korea.
• Early episodes mix humor with cartoonish settings to tackle real-world issues like dedicated trauma centers with appropriate personnel and equipment.

The series promises a thrilling and engaging look at medical challenges with a sarcastic and superhero movie comedic undertone. This genius surgeon has high hopes to help revamped the flawed and ill equipped trauma center at Hankuk University Medical Centre. While doing so, he also trains his young subordinates in a unique and non traditional fashion that is often under pressure and involving high stakes situations.
Particularly, a resident in the colorectal department currently on trauma rotation names Yang Jae-won(played by Choo Young-woo). Yang Jae-won is an awkward but skilled trainee doctor who is tasked with working with Baek Kang-hyuk. This young trainee is often floored by the lengths and techniques used by the extraordinary surgeon and now lead Doctor on his rotation. Their on screen chemistry is very smooth! The dynamic between nerdy, by the book trainee and seasoned, dapper, hot shot-get it done surgeon is perfect. Together they provide fun performances that audiences will find thoroughly entertaining.
Filled with wry humor, controlled chaos, sense of realism, and a whirlwind of heroic rescues, this k-drama is a fulfilling, comedic, and nontraditional medical series.
The series is directed by Lee Do-yun, written by Choi Tae-gang, and also stars Ha Young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Jeong Jae-kwang.
