Hit series "Boarders" on BBC is headed to Tubi for season 2!
Last week BBC announced that Boarders season 2 would be headed to Tubi!
In June 2024 after the British coming-of-age dramedy debuted, BBC announced that season 2 was officially given the green light. The series boasts a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, so this renewal announcement was not a surprise to many critics and fans alike.
Boarders is a comedy drama produced by Studio Lambert and airing on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. The six-episode series follows the story of five underprivileged Black students from inner-city London who win scholarships to an elite boarding school.
These students are stepping out into what is like a mythical, fantasy, and unknown world filled with privilege and opportunity around every hallway corner and class room door. Adjusting to this new environment while also navigating teenage coming of age angst and obstacles makes this dramedy a must watch!
Boarders stars:
Josh Tedeku as Jaheim
Jodie Campbell as Leah
Myles Kamwendo as Omar
Aruna Jalloh as Femi
Sekou Diaby as Toby
Per the logline from the BBC, Season 2 “will see a new era for the students at St Gilbert’s. With the headmaster who brought them on now suspended following a school rebellion, the acting headmistress has made her intentions clear– she wants them gone. The first season focused on the five outsiders as they begin to thrive in this new boarding school environment and the second season will test them in how much they’re willing to sacrifice to survive.”
Created and written by Daniel Lawrence Taylor, the first season of the series premiered in the U.K. on February 2024 and on March 8, 2024, in the United States via Tubi. Boarders will follow the same format as season 1 and will feature six 45-minute episodes in total. Season 2 is set to release in 2025.
