ITV’s newest thriller "FAKE" chills in UK debut!
This gripping, romance-scam thriller will have audiences locked in! FAKE is out now in the U.K. on ITVX & ITV as of today April 20, 2025. FAKE is inspired by the bestselling book of the same name by Stephanie Wood. It was created for television by acclaimed screenwriter Anya Beyersdorf.
This series takes audiences on a ride where lined becomes blurred, and the navigating the road between fact and fiction can prove to be a dangerous journey.
The series stars Asher Keddie as Birdie Bell, a magazine features writer who thinks she’s found her perfect match when she meets successful rancher Joe, on a dating app. But as the relationship intensifies, Birdie is torn between Joe’s magnetic pull and the instinct that her boyfriend isn’t all he has led her to believe.
This chilling series is inspired by Stephanie Wood’s 2019 memoir of the same name, the eight-part series.

FAKE premiered on ITVX on Sunday, April 20th. All eight episodes were released on the streaming service at once. Additionally, it will air weekly on ITV1 on Saturday evenings starting on Saturday, April 26th.
