"King and Conqueror" Charges Forth onto BBC.
The new BBC series, King and Conqueror, delves into the events leading up to the pivotal Battle of Hastings, a conflict that shaped England's - and Europe's - destiny for a millennium.
The series is led by James Norton (Harold), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (William), Clémence Poésy (Matilda) and Emily Beecham (Edith). The drama spans the years preceding the 1066 battle, portraying Harold and William as allies before circumstances force them to become adversaries.
Both action packed and historical, this series starts off with a forceful march and compelling story. The ensemble cast members are remarkable. Coster-Waldau stands out and his acting is excellent in this period drama.
Although some events have controversial recollections, this meaty and satisfying series is penned very well by lead writer, Michael Robert Johnson of this new historical blockbuster series.

Per BBC, King & Conqueror is the story of a clash that defined the future of a country – and a continent – for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties, struggling for power across two countries and a raging sea.
Harold of Wessex (James Norton) and William of Normandy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the English throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.
War, romance, and power all take center stage as this riveting period drama commences.
