PBS celebrates Independence Day live from Washington D.C.!
Join host Alfonso Ribeiro and a horde of talent live tonight!
On today, July 4, 2024 A Capitol Fourth concert and celebration will be live from the West Front of the United States Capitol. The concert will be broadcast on PBS at 8:00 p.m. EST and streaming online to honor The Unites States birthday.
Returning again this year to host the event is iconic television personality and actor Alfonso Ribeiro. Ribeiro currently hosts a cable spinoff of the longtime ABC hit, America’s Funniest Home Videos: Animal Edition that airs on Nat Geo WILD and brought lots of laughs into homes across America with hilarious clips of cats, dogs and other animals. In addition, he hosted six seasons of the hit gameshow Catch 21, for which his work garnered two Emmy Nominations.
For over 40 years, this television event, featuring a parade of superstars — including Frankie Valli, Patti LaBelle, John Williams, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Reba McEntire, Carole King, Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, Steve Martin, Josh Groban, Gloria Estefan, Huey Lewis and the News, Little Richard, Tony Bennett, Faith Hill, Ray Charles, the Bee Gees, Kenny G, Aaron Neville, Kenny Rogers and the Muppets from Sesame Street — has offered the best in American entertainment and helped set the tone for a spectacular American birthday party.
This top-rated extravaganza features coverage from 20 cameras positioned around Washington, D.C., ensuring viewers are front and center for the greatest display of fireworks in the nation.




Actress and musician Fantasia will be headlining this years A Capital Fourth even along with other top artist that include Smokey Robinson, Darren Criss, Sheila E., Fitz and Noelle from Fitz and the Tantrums, Chloe Flower, Sister Sledge Ft. Sledgendary, Loren Allred, Shawn Johnson East, Britt Stewart and Jack Everly, along with the National Symphony Orchestra, The Choral Arts Society of Washington, Patrick Lyndy and the Ministers of Music, the United States Army Band, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets and the U.S. Army Chorus among others.
