Sweethearts is a lighter version of American Pie merged with The Kissing Booth. Often sweet and heartwarming, filled with tender moments as young adults experience romance for the first time and embark on new journeys of self discovery in their college years, however, this film is also a bit raunchy at times, funny, and crass.

Sweethearts will have audiences entertained and invested into the love life of these lead characters as soon as the show starts. The introduction sequence tells a story through art and photographs which give a timeline with the current romantic status, slight description, and funny innuendos about the main characters or their partners.
