The Audacity Delivers More Wacky And Dark Comedy In The Digital Age on AMC
Paul Adelstein Is Here To Chat About This Interesting & Funny Show.
In The Audacity, Duncan Park played by Billy Magnussen, is the CEO of a struggling data mining company called Hypergnosis. After failing to sell it, he seeks an investor with the help of his therapist, Joanne Felder, whom he blackmails using his technology. Possible investors include Martin Phister, whose wife has a past with Duncan, and wealthy recluse Carl Bardolph. Over eight episodes, Duncan and Joanne’s plans go awry, leading to chaos among the elite, who behave like children.
The Audacity starts slowly but evolves into a more engaging story. Lead actors Billy Magnussen and Sarah Goldberg show great potential that suggests season two could be impressive. While the first five episodes are entertaining and contain humor and by mid season an emotional depth and the story itself leans into a more complex plot.
In tonight’s episode 6 on AMC, JoAnne trusts Sheldon to do her dirty work; Ruffery is shattered; Duncan cannot escape Hamish's legacy of flashy machinations; Tess discovers Orson's dark secret; Chekhov's gun might go off; Lili hits upon the greatest metaphor ever.
We asked Paul Adelstein who plays Dr. Gary Felder on the show about the shows overall theme.
