"The Penguin" blasts onto HBO with a killer series premiere!
The Penguin on HBO stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka “The Penguin”), the DC Studios series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster “The Batman.” The Penguin premiered on September 19, 2024 on HBO. The series is developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.
The first of episode of this series kicked off with a bang. Colin Farrell has completely transformed into ”The Penguin” and he is effortlessly portraying this character so well and with great nuance, fully embodying all that makes this character one of DC’s top villains. The cinematography is stellar and audiences can become immersed in he story as it bring you right inside of the dark and gritty underworld that plagues the city streets of Gotham. Batman and other DC fans alike with find familiar names being mentioned as well as enjoy several DC Universe callbacks throughout the series.

The Penguin takes viewers on a thrilling and murderous ride through the city as the often calm Oz can transform from a 2 bit sleazy mobster, to a murderous villain in an instant. His ambitious journey filled with, pain, power, greed, and insecurity plays out in this dark saga. The eight-episode limited series will debut weekly on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.
