The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is gearing up for its highly anticipated third season. AMC announced on June 23, 2025 that season 3 of the series is set to premiere on September 7 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC and AMC+. The series stars The Walking Dead franchise veteran actors Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) and Melissa McBride (Carol). The spin-off continues their post-apocalyptic journey as the battle to survive and make it back home to their loved ones continues to drive Daryl and Carol forward.
Characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) have been staples in the franchise since the original series premiered it’s first season on AMC. They have both faced their fair share of danger and experienced a lot of loss over the years. However, their companionship has withstood the test of time, making this dynamic duo some of the most well loved characters throughout the entirety of AMC‘s The Walking Dead series franchise. The original series starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes followed a group of survivors during the initial, peak, and then subsequent years of zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead original TV series was based on the comic book of the same name from creator Robert Kirkman. The original series initially premiered on AMC in 2010 and ran for 11 seasons.
In season 1 of Daryl Dixon, Daryl wakes up and finds himself washed ashore from a wrecked ship way across the globe in Europe. As he fights to get home, he meets and bands with new people along the way. Carol joined The Walking Dead Universe Spinoff series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: The Book Of Carol in season 2. Her presence in the series brought nostalgia, the TWD Family spirit, and the reminder of a survivors heart to the series. In season 2, Carol left home and set off to find Daryl. They eventually reunited, just narrowly escaped danger from both humans and the dead, and then started out on a new path and journey toward home.
Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon follows Daryl and Carol on their quest to somehow return home and back to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way home, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
Returning and new cast members this season include Candela Saitta, Gonzalo Bouza, Hada Nieto, Yassmine Othman, Cuco Usín, Stephen Merchant, Hugo Arbués, and Greta Fernández. Season 3 also welcomes new series regulars Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay.
