Unconventional crime series "Patience" provides an intriguing story in U.S. debut on PBS.
Patience is a new crime drama series that aired on PBS starting June 15, 2025. This series is very interesting, viewers will immediately be enamored with the storyline and peculiar, smart, and innovative way in which lead character Patience investigates crime.
The series Patience is a British-Belgian detective drama television series starring Laura Fraser as Detective Inspector Bea Metcalf, and Ella Maisy Purvis as autistic police archivist Patience Evans (Purvis is herself autistic). The series is set in Yorkshire. It is adapted from the French television series Astrid et Raphaëlle. The series premiered in the United Kingdom on Channel 4 on 8 January 2025. Filming on a second series took place in May 2025.
Mainly centering on the young Patience Evans as she helps DI Metcalf solve crimes, the series explores themes of autism, neurodiversity, and the challenges faced by individuals with autism. Patience is available to stream in the US on PBS, episodes will release weekly on Sundays.
The series has a feel that is somewhat like a cross between U.S. TV series “The Irrational” and “The Good Doctor”. This series is very entertaining and filled with intrigue, crime, and drama.
