With love from Seoul, class is back in session! -XO, Kitty
"XO, Kitty" season 2 charms its way back onto Netflix.
XO, Kitty follows American-Korean teenager Katherine Song Covey, a.k.a. Kitty, the quick witted, matchmaking, and spunky younger sister of Lara Jean from the To All The Boys books turned movies. After Kitty gets the same high school scholarship that her late mom received in her teenage years, she hits the skies and flies to South Korea in hopes or learning more about her mother and embarking on a new path with her long distance beau Dae who already attends the same exact school as her mom once attended.
However, once she arrives to her elite new international high school (Korean Independent School of Seoul) known as K.I.S.S., things don’t quite go as planned.
This time around for season 2, Kitty is ready to focus her energy in a new direction…..maybe. Here’s a quick recap below.
In season 1, after being a continent away from her family for the first time, surviving her first heart break, forming new bonds, flunking out of school, and coming to realize and understand more about herself and her sexuality… Kitty Covey is back!
It’s a new semester and class is in session again at K.I.S.S. This year Kitty has learned the ropes and she’s ready for a fresh start. Despite being newly single and deeply crushing on the well taken Yuri, Kitty is motivated and more concerned with her mothers history than her own drama filled teenage love life.
When a letter from her mother's past sets her on a wild journey, and new faces at K.I.S.S bring unimaginable change, season 2 no doubt takes audiences on an emotional ride. Secrets begin to unravel and bonds are tested. Kitty will learn that life, family and love are more complicated than she ever imagined.
Viewers will love watching Kitty begin this semester with a more experienced and optimistic approach. While this time she’s more focused on connecting with her mothers past at K.I.S.S., several familiar faces will be along with her for whatever adventure lies ahead, as well as some key new ones.
Season 2 stars Anna Cathcart (Kitty), Minyeong Choi (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), Sang Heon Lee (Min-ho), Anthony Keyvan (Q), and more. Joining them are a new faces, Audrey Huynh, Sasha Bhasin, and Joshua Lee.
The highlight for many fans who viewed the XO, Kitty season 2 trailer was the clip showing actor Noah Centineo back in his role as Peter Kavinsky, the heartthrob and boyfriend of her older sister Lara Jean who first appeared in the first installment of the To All The Boys movie franchise.
“Working with Anna again was amazing,” Centineo shared with Tudum. “She’s so wonderfully talented, and her work ethic shows in every scene. Stepping back into the To All the Boys universe was a true joy, and I hope our incredible audience enjoys seeing Peter again as much as I did.”
The series is created by Jenny Han (who wrote the To All the Boys books). Funny, emotional, and charming, this coming of age tale is the perfectly adorable rom con that both teens and adults will find engaging and entertaining.
