Season 2 of "Wild Cards" returns tonight and Deuce is Wild!
The lead crime-solving duo is back with more cat and mouse games on The CW.
Police procedural drama Wild Cards Season 2 premieres on February 5, 2025 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW Network. We covered the extended 13 episode season 2 series announcement in June (here).
If you aren’t familiar with the series, it follows Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan) the beautiful and street smart full-time con artist and part-time cop caught between two worlds and Detective Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti), the suave, highly charismatic detective for the Metro PD who has nonvoluntarily been tasked with teaming up with Max. These opposites attract when working together in the most non-traditional and unorthodox fashions when solving crimes and bringing criminal to justice.
There were multiple suspenseful and surprise moments in the season 1 finale. Ellis set out to arrest Max for her elaborate jewel con, but she blindsides him with info about his brother's killer. Now the stakes are raised both in the cases they solve...and their feelings for each other.
Season 2 is no doubt dynamic, dangerous, and exhilarating. Early on in season 2, Ellis will try and come to terms with Max's betrayal, knowing that she risked it all to share info about the killer. In episode 1 of this current season, this charming and sexy duo are ready to solve crimes and get the job done by any means necessary, while also uncovering what happened to the brother of Detective Ellis. However, early on, viewers will see that Max may be back up to some of her old sneaky ways and streetwise shenanigans.
Season 2, episode 1 of Wild Cards is titled, “Con in 60 Seconds”. This electric episode brings high octane street racing and an illegal criminal underbelly front and center. In the pursuit of justice, Max and Ellis go full throttle undercover and face a dangerous kidnapping situation. As time runs out, they are hoping to solve the case and not crash and burn in the process!

With both Ellis and Max seeking to prove their worth in the department and have their own personal cases and pursuits amended, they are learning to trust each other more and develop into a dynamic and reliable crime solving team….BUT…is Max really ready to put the con artist to rest and go full cop mode?
Audiences will just have to tune in and find out this season on Wild Cards!
Wild Cards Season 2 airs weekly on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
